Robert C.P. Walker and Raewyn J. Brewer appointed as members of BC Employment Standards Tribunal

Robert C.P. Walker and Raewyn J. Brewer were appointed as members of the BC Employment Standards Tribunal ("EST") on October 19, 2011. Their terms run to November 30, 2013.

Their biographies on the BC EST website read as follows:

  • Robert Walker has his own private practice where he acts as Counsel to numerous municipalities, school boards, and other administrative tribunals. Previously, he was a Partner and Local Government Counsel with Woodward Walker Barristers and Solicitors and prior to that, a Senior Partner with Thompson and McConnell. Mr. Walker is the former President with the Canadian Bar Association Municipal Law Subsection, a former Instructor with the School of Community and Regional Planning at the Municipal Administrators Training Institute, and a former Editor for the Continuing Legal Education publication BC Real Estate Practice Development Manual. He holds his Bachelor of Arts and his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. Mr. Walker was called to the Bar in BC in 1973.
  • Raewyn Brewer is an Associate with Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy, LLP. Previously, she was seconded from Farris to serve as a Corporate Counsel with MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. Prior to articling at Farris, Ms. Brewer clerked at the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Active in the community, Ms. Brewer is the Vice President of the Association of Women in Finance and the former Chair with the Dean¿s Women¿s Advisory Committee and a former member with the Appointments Advisory Committee with the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. In 2005, she was awarded the William R. McIntyre Award from the University of Victoria Faculty of Law for the graduating student
    exhibiting highest qualities of academic excellence, student leadership and community service. Ms. Brewer holds her Bachelor Arts in Art History and English and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria.
